Much anticipated Yamaha R25 coming to India in 2015 quarter

Much anticipated Yamaha R25 coming to India in 2015 quarter

As the 250cc category is getting really powerful, here comes the next member to the family the Yamaha R25.Yamaha Motor reported that they are planning to launch R25 in India by 2015 quarter and may be it will be exported from Yamaha plant in Indonesia, but its not officially confirmed yet.

Yamaha R25, was launched in Indonesia on 20 May 2014, with a price tag of 53 Million Indonesian Rupiah (roughly ₹2.70 lakhs), we have got a report that many Indian motorcycle enthusiasts have tried to import the R25 form Indonesia before its launch in India and that shows how much Indians need R25.

Coming to technical specifications the R25comes loaded with a 250 cc liquid-cooled, in-line, four-stroke, two-cylinder engine with a powerful 36 bhp output, @12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.1 Nm @10,000 rpm. Built on Tubular Diamond chassis, latest in the R-series line up comes with Telescopic suspension at the front and monocross suspension at the rear. It measures 2,090 mm in length, 720 mm in width, 1,135 mm in height and has a seat height of 780 mm.

Having awheelbase of 1,380 mm, the bike weighs 166 kgs and has a fuel tank capacity of 14.3 liters. It comes with the features like fuel consumption indicator, oil change indicator, trip and odo-meter and engine temperature warning. It will be available in three colors - Racing Blue, Predator Black and Diablo Red.

But we also have a rumor that the R25 to be launched in India will be a single cylinder 250 cc motor, rather than the two cylinder Indonesian, which would make the bike affordable for the Indian two-wheelerconnoisseur.

Yamaha R25 Rivals are Hyosung GT250R ,Kawasaki Ninja 250 Mono and Honda CBR250R.

Again another news is that the R25 will not belaunchedin Indiabecause of the fact that the Yamaha R25 is slightly under powered to the KawasakiNinja 300 and CBR 300R from Honda. which is to be launched soon in India, and launching a 250cc motorcycle this late would be a bad decision.

So here comes the picture of another big boy the R3, yes the 320cc Yamaha motorcycle, rumored to have a 320cc three cylinder cross plane crankshaft heart, still no official confirmation.

But even the Indian motorcycle maker Bajaj have already unveiledPulsar400 SS & CS in Delhi motor-expo is also a much awaited motorcycle.

The expected price of Yamaha R25 is around2.25lakhs (Ex-Showroom).
