Shivaji Memorial update

Shivaji Memorial update

The Chhatrapati Shivaji memorial in the Arabian Sea will be one of the first eggs of the new government to get environmental clearance from the Centre, indicating the BJP's resolve to appropriate Shivaji's legacy in Maharashtra. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, after a long meeting with Union environment minister Prakash Javadekar, said the memorial will get environmental clearance within a week. Jayanthi Natarajan, the Union environment minister in the erstwhile UPA government, had granted in-principle clearance for the project.
Both Fadnavis and Javadekar have promised that projects would not lag for want of clearances. The CM said clearances for the Ambedkar memorial at Indu Mill from the Union environment ministry and the textiles ministry would be expedited as also clearances for the second and third phases of Chaitya Bhoomi development at Dadar.
A presentation on various pending projects was held at the Sah yadri state guest house on Thursday . Javadekar said that a fortnight from now, the hurdles faced by the projects would be discussed and decisions taken at a meeting in Delhi. In June, on his first visit to Mumbai after assuming office, Javadekar had given a similar assurance to fast-track projects stuck at the environment ministry .
Fadnavis said a timebound road map would be prepared for all the projects. "Unlike the previous governments, the governments at the Centre and the state will be proactive." On the coastal road project, the CM said, "There will be no compromising on environmental norms," he said.
Other projects include the redevelopment of koliwadas in CRZ III, redevelopment of slums on CRZ land, Metro carshed at Charkop and the conversion of 87,000 hectares of shrub land in Vidarbha, classified as forests, to revenue land.

Match Commentary

264 can be seen in two ways - No dew, slow pitch and India level the series tonight. Put the dew, render the bowlers ineffective and we might West Indies cruise to a 2-0 lead. Stay tuned as this will be a shortened innings break.
Things were looking shaky for India at 74/3 in the 18th over but the middle order trio of Kohli, Raina and Dhoni steadied India and also took the score post 260. Taylor was the most effective bowler on display, with 3 wickets while the others did well at the start and then at the death.
It was a start which India did not want, especially after electing to bat. Dhawan went early and Rahane and Rayudu found scoring tough. Then, just when they were beginning to settle down, they threw their wickets away.
A good final over for India but a great comeback from the Windies. At one stage, the Indians were looking set for 300 but Kohli's wicket changed things. The last over went for 15, else it could have been even better.

FOUR! Bang! Taylor goes short on middle and leg, cramps him slightly for room, Dhoni gets behind the line and pulls it behind square leg for a boundary now! Gets to his half century as well!

SIX! That is huge! Full ball, right under the bat, Dhoni smashes the mickey out of this, right over the sight screen! And... he has broken his bat!

A short ball on middle, 137.1 kph, Dhoni mistimes his pull wide of mid-wicket. He runs hard to come back for the second.

Run out opportunity missed. Full ball on middle and off, Dhoni heaves it wide of long on. He takes the single but while turning for the second, slips. Shami has comes half way down the track and has to return. The throw comes to Pollard who looks to give it to the keeper but collides with Dhoni and tumbles as well. Shami gets back.
MOHAMMED SHAMI is the new man in.
